The Harvard Fire Protection District
currently employs 41 People. As an ALS agency we send all of our
cadets through Firefighter II and EMT - Basic School as well as a multitude
of continuing education up to and including Paramedic school. After a
one year probationary period the cadet is promoted to EMT/Firefighter and
may begin working shifts.
Our Hiring process begins after the
applicant turns in his/her application. Afterwards our officers review
the application and will call the applicant in for an initial
interview. If it is decided that the applicant would be an ideal candidate
the chiefs will propose the new hire to our board of trustees. Once
approved by the board the candidate is required to attend an
orientation meeting. The candidate is then promoted to cadet and
he/she will begin training.
Requirements:
Must live within the Fire District.
Be at least 18 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Have a valid drivers license.
Must become an EMT/Firefighter within 2 years.
Note: If you have already turned
in your application and have not heard back this dose NOT mean you have been
eliminated from our candidate testing process. The HFPD considers
candidates in groups. We may be holding your application and waiting
for more candidates to apply. We will call when we are ready to
interview.
